No Longer Posting Comic Strips

I’m no longer posting comic strips for at least a year or two, unless something drastic changes. I decided when I restarted the strips that I wanted to stay at least a month ahead in the work. I was not able to do that. I got some sort of flu or serious cold, maybe something bad. I dealt with it for the past three or four weeks and it is still lingering. It was some of the worst coughing I’d ever seen anyone have.

Needless to say, I was unable to get any work done. So I am out of strips and need to pivot and refocus on my other work. The strips were never really my first choice, and require a truly dedicated artist to pull it off. I have far too many interests for me to give these strips all they deserve, so I’ve tentatively decided not to do them anymore.

I will focus on writing and abstract painting. I want to get my Etsy shop going and growing. I have a ton of unfinished paintings, and I really want to finish the novels I started. It is a better fit for my inability to have deadlines every day.

It really is a killer to have work ready and finished on a daily basis. It takes a lot out of a person and takes up everything that could be used for other interests. I’m glad I tried. I clearly learned a ton. I think my style grew over time and all I lost from the hospital is coming back to me.

I will try to finish the third in the series of comic books I’ve been working on, soon. I only have about nine pages left to pencil, ink, scan, and color before it will be finished. I’ll post about it when I get closer to finish. It’s been a tough thing to deal with but it’s nearly done and I owe it to myself to push through and do more of the comic style before fully pivoting. I may however focus on it at a later time when I’ve had some distance from the comic style.

Thanks for the followers who liked and commented and appreciated the work. I will leave this site up and may repurpose it if I can, but not sure how that would work out. Maybe I’ll start a new site. I have some other projects I will work on too, so there are multiple things keeping me busy. I’m still working out my plans for the years to come but for now I’m focusing on writing and painting. It seems what I’ve always done.
